Itu is 92 Km far from São Paulo and it's an attractive trip trhough legends, tastes, and also, a politic, cultural, artistic and religious history from Brazil.
It's foundation landmark was a small chapel that Domingos Fernandes has built, in 1610, in honor of Nossa Senhora da Candelária, Itu's patron saint.
The county has several antique mansions and churches, many of them registred by the National Historic Patrimony
